Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho sees Gary Cahill and John Terry as his first choice centre back pairing and has attempted to use Luiz in a defensive midfield role, which is perhaps a better fit for the former Benfica man.
Luiz has played half of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures this term and could well be the next player Mourinho is willing to cash-in on, having offloaded Juan Mata, Kevin de Bruyne and Michael Essien in January.
David Luiz played a pivotal role in Chelsea’s successful Champions and Europa League campaigns but is seemingly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and it may be time for a fresh challenge.
The chance to team up with national team colleague Thiago Silva in the heart of the PSG defence could tempt Luiz.
