Arsenal are ready to make a move for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli following talks between Arsene Wenger and the player’s agent according to the Daily Express.

The 23 year old is apparently ready to leave the San Siro and Gunners boss Wenger has met with his representative Mino Raiola ahead of a potential summer bid.

Arsenal are ready to fork out the £40m it would take to convince the Rossoneri to sell, with new kit manufacturers Puma ready to stump up £15m of that outlay.

Balotelli had been strongly linked with a January move to Chelsea but no move was forthcoming and a summer exit is seemingly on the cards.

The former Man City man is unhappy with life at AC Milan and the troubled marksman was seen crying on the bench having been subbed in a recent fixture against Napoli.

Arsenal are desperate to bring in some much needed firepower, with Wenger being over-reliant on Olivier Giroud this term with both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott out for long period with injuries, and the North London club will be boosted by the commitment from Puma to help fund the deal.

The Emirates Stadium side agreed a massive £150m kit deal with Puma earlier this season.

Despite his issues since moving to AC Milan, and there have been a number of high-profile incidents suggesting all is not well, Balotelli has still managed to score regularly, netting 22 goals in 31 Serie A appearances.
