Moyes has been a big admirer of the 26-year-old ever since he was in charge of Everton, and is now looking to the England international to be a key part of his new look squad this summer.
The under pressure United manager has earmarked Lennon’s pace and trickery on the flank to help provide some creative spark to a rather stagnant midfield.
However, he will first have to convince the White Heart Lane side to sell as the two sides do not enjoy the best of relationships ever since Dimitar Berbatov’s transfer deadline day switch to Old Trafford in 2008.
They again rubbed each other up the wrong way during a war of words last summer when Spurs signed former United defender Zaki Fryers from Standard Liege.
Lennon still has two years remaining on his contract in the capital and Spurs aren’t thought to be keen to let him go to a rival top four club.
However, Moyes’ desire to replace both Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia could make him seek to build bridges with Spurs in the hope of completing a move.
