Salzburg shocked Europe last week when they overcame the Dutch giants by three goals to nil and will welcome the Amsterdam-based giants to the Red Bull Arena with the view of protecting their lead.
“We want to play our usual style in this match,” the Salzburg coach told assembled media. “We must push ourselves to the limits and enjoy two great matches in sold-out stadiums.”
Ajax coach De Boer goes into the game without four players in defender Nicolai Boilesen, midfielder Lasse Schone and striker Viktor Fischer (all hamstring) and another midfielder in Thulani Serero (groin).
Ahead of the game, Salzburg has announced new deals for midfielder Stefan Ilsanker and assistant coach Oliver Glasner, though to 2018 and 2016 respectively.
