Anfield ace heads to Wembley to watch Sunderland in Capital One Cup final.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has been pictured watching Sunderland against Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final.

The 23 year-old began his career at the Stadium of Light, coming through the ranks and quickly becoming a vitally important player – eventually winning a £20 million transfer to Anfield in June 2011.

The fee was widely criticised in the media and amongst fans of rival sides, but Henderson has shown this season that all he needed was time, combining dynamism and technical ability to cement a choice in Brendan Rodgers’ first choice XI – and winning an England squad place under Roy Hodgson.

Still, Henderson has not forgotten his roots, and travelled to Wembley to support his old team Sunderland against Man City in the first major final of the season.

The Black Cats may have lost, but they performed with immense credit against a team possessing arguably the best attacking line in the Premier League – with Henderson’s Liverpool perhaps being their only rival to that claim.
