Premier League new boys Hull City will make an audacious move for out-of-favour Arsenal centre-back Johan Djourou this summer should the struggling Tigers manage to avoid being relegated back to the Championship at the end of the season, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.

The Switzerland international is currently spending a season-long loan spell with Bundesliga outfit Hamburg, the second successive campaign that Djourou has been shipped out on loan by the north London club.

In the previous season, Djourou spent the year with Bundesliga side Hannover, and with the central defender understood to have enjoyed his time with both German top-flight teams, Hull head coach Steve Bruce knows that it will not be easy to persuade the player to move to the north east next season.

However, with Djourou having reportedly already made up his mind to leave the Emirates this summer, Bruce and Co will at least try to lure the 27-year-old to the KC Stadium by lodging a bid of around £2.6m with the north Londoners for the defender, whose current contract with the Gunners now only runs until June 2015.
