The Reds have reportedly been tracking the 22-year-old for some time and will have been impressed with Lacazette’s form so far this season. The youngster has bagged an impressive 13 Ligue 1 goals in 22 appearances.

The Anfield club are thought to be willing to offer £10m to sign the 2-cap France international in the summer, although both Tottenham and Arsenal are also interested in the striker.

Lacazette has played a variety of positions for Lyon this season, including as a central striker and on either flank.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has no shortage of attacking talent at his disposal and central strikers Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez have scored more league goals than most rival Premier League teams this season.
