Arsenal Fans Will Finally Get To See New Signing In FA Cup Clash With Everton

Kallstrom is set to make Gunners debut at the weekend.

Despite signing in the January transfer window Kim Kallstrom is yet to play for new club Arsenal, but could make his debut against Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final on Saturday, according to the Mirror.

The Sweden international was signed on-loan from Spartak Moscow despite the Gunners knowing the midfielder was injured and since then the 31-year-old has been nursing a back injury.

The initial prognosis was six weeks on the sidelines for Kallstrom, but the Sweden international has made impressive progress and could be in line to face the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend.

Manager Arsene Wenger needs a boost after seeing his team fall off the pace in both their Premier League and Champions League campaigns.

A 0-2 home defeat in their first-leg against reigning champions Bayern Munich is going to be extremely difficult to overturn at the Allianz Arena, whilst a shock 1-0 loss to Stoke City on Saturday has seen the north Londoners slip behind both Chelsea and Liverpool in the title race – whilst Manchester City are just two points behind with two games in hand.

It now looks as if the FA Cup could be the club’s only realistic chance of winning silverware this term, with their current trophy drought about to stretch to nine years this summer.

After a great start to the season many thought Wenger would finally take the team to glory once again, but as was the case 12 months ago a busy end to the campaign appears to be hindering their chances.
