It’s the final international match England manager Roy Hodgson has until he has to name the 23-man squad to travel to the 2014 World Cup.

The English host Denmark in a match they will be hoping to win, although it is more about Hodgson blooding some unproven talent ahead of the tournament in South America.

Uncapped Luke Shaw has been called up for the first time after having impressed with Southampton over the past two years and the 18-year-old is being linked with a place in Brazil ahead of Chelsea stalwart Ashley Cole.

There will also be opportunities for Liverpool youngster Raheem Sterling, Everton’s Ross Barkley and Tottenham Hotpur’s Andros Townsend to try and show Hodgson they are worthy of a place at the biggest football tournament.

The last time these two sides met was three years ago when goals from Darren Bent and Ashley Young secured a 2-1 win for the Three Lions, but neither of those players are among the squad anymore.

Instead Glen Johnson is expected to earn his 50th cap for the country, whilst Saints duo Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez are in line for starts – although Sterling may be preferred ahead of the latter.

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is expected to start upfront for the Danes, whilst Tottenham attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen faces a late fitness test and will not be risked unless 100% fit.
