Liverpool Ace Suarez Would Make A Better Soldier Than Team-Mate Sturridge

The Uruguayan thinks he could cope better in the SAS than the England international.

It’s been a brilliant season for Liverpool in the Premier League, thanks largely to their attacking duo of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge – known affectionately as ‘SAS.’

Between the pair they have scored 42 league goals already in 2013/14, more than many teams have in total, and this form looks set to take the Reds back to the Champions League for the first time since 2009.

After being strongly linked with a move away from Anfield last summer Suarez now looks totally content on Merseyside and has a great working relationship with Sturridge.

However, the Uruguay international does think he would make a better ‘SAS’ soldier than his 24-year-old team-mate.

“I’m older and you always need experience in an army!” the 27-year-old told Four Four Two, with his tongue firmly in his cheek.

“To be honest, though, with the two of us together, you wouldn’t go far wrong.”

Whilst Suarez is clearly joking, the comment about going far with the two strikers leading the attack is not far wrong, as Brendan Rodgers seem to have found the perfect balance within the team.

The 0-3 win over Southampton in the league last Saturday moved Rodgers’ men up to second in the table and they have now scored more goals than any other side in the English top tier with 73.

As well as the ‘SAS’, Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson and captain Steven Gerrard have also been in great form and there are even some that think Liverpool have a chance of winning the title.
