National team pair move to quash speculation.
Speculation is rife that an England international is set to ‘come out’ tomorrow and even though numerous tabloids have denied they are about to ‘break’ such a story it appears that two members of Roy Hodgson’s national team squad have felt compelled to deny they are the player in question.
???????????????? come on people, sorry to disappoint u but I'm strictly #chicks only ????????

Southampton teenager Luke Shaw simply stated “It’s not me chill out guys!” as football fans attempt to second guess the identity of the player in question, oblivious to the fact that in all likelihood there is no validity to the speculation that has whirled into overdrive over the past couple of days.
That such a firestorm would result from the ‘breaking’ of this story, false or otherwise, is perhaps in itself indicative of how the game is sadly still not ready to openly discuss the issue of gay footballers and will simply act to deter those in the game who clearly don’t feel comfortable ‘coming out’ in the current homophobic environment that is undoubtedly prevalent.
