Real Madrid are ready to mount a mammoth bid to sign Liverpool striker Luis Suarez this summer as Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti gets the backing of his board to spend big.

CaughtOffside understands that Italian manager Ancelotti has made it abundantly clear he wants to bring in Uruguayan ace Suarez to form part of a mouthwatering striking threesome that would see Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale play either side of the in-form Premier League marksman.

Though Suarez has only recently signed a new long term contract Real Madrid are confident that they can lure the former Ajax man to the Spanish capital.

Despite having spent a huge sum on new talents last summer, with the likes of Isco, Asier Illarramendi and the aforementioned Bale the La Liga giants are to offer £80m for Suarez, an offer that Liverpool may struggle to turn down, especially if their prized asset makes it clear he wants to pursue a move to join Real Madrid.

Suarez has been in astounding form this term, scoring 24 goals in 23 Premier League appearances, and is also the English top tier’s leading assist maker. That form has helped propel Liverpool up the table and has made Brendan Rodgers’s side genuine title contenders.

However Ancelotti is confident that even if Champions League football has been secured by Liverpool that he can still tempt Suarez into forcing a move to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid could elect to use the likes of Isco, Alvaro Morata, Jese, Karim Benzema and Fabio Coentrao as possible additions into any offer for Suarez though they are financially equipped to stump up the £80m fee without the necessity of including potential makeweights.

Suarez cost Liverpool £22m back in January 2011 and has scored 75 goals in 123 appearances for the Premier League side.

Over the past year Suarez has formed an irresistible strike partnership with England international Daniel Sturridge with Liverpool’s unplayable attack forming the bedrock of the club’s push for major honours.
