Even Piers Morgan’s happy today!
The Gunners cruised to a 4-1 victory over Everton in the FA Cup today at the Emirates, and fans and professional pundits were quick to give the Gunners the praise their performance deserved.
Mesut Ozil was especially brilliant, opening the scoring with an excellently taken first goal, and providing the team with consistent creativity in the final third. The £42.5m German has been out of the side recently, having failed to score a goal this calendar year before today.
The rest clearly did him a world of good however, and if he can re-find his best form, he could be vital to Arsenal’s chances of picking up silverware in the next few months.
Similarly, Olivier Giroud silenced his own doubters with a brilliant 30 minute cameo performance. Coming on for Yaya Sanogo after an hour, the French striker bagged twice with two clinical finishes, and constantly looked to get on the end of service provided to him by Ozil and Santi Cazorla.
Here’s how football journalists (and Piers Morgan) reacted to the slick Arsenal display…
Fantastic performance/win. As Arsene will doubtless say, we showed ‘great hunger and desire’. #afc

What a difference a bit more quality makes. Giroud scores twice to make it 4-1. He’s served his punishment, Arsene.
