Liverpool have set their sights on experienced Juventus forward Mirko Vucinic according to Football Direct News.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in quality striking support to back-up in-form pair Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge and hopes to lure Montenegrin international Vucinic to the Premier League this summer.

The 30 year old has seen his first team chances limited by the arrival last summer of Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente which has left the former AS Roma man to start just four Serie A starts this season.

Vucinic finished last season as Juventus’s top scorer in Serie A action and will not be warming the bench as his age and a fresh challege at Liverpool could tempt the powerful forward.

Rodgers may well elect to offload Italian Fabio Borini on a permanent basis following his loan spell at Sunderland and new signing Iago Aspas is playing for his Liverpool future after a poor first campaign.

Liverpool will find it easier to land Vucinic if they secure that all important top four finish.
