The 22 year old midfielder suffered a foot injury during England’s friendly win over Denmark in midweek and will be out for as much as six weeks, which comes at a crucial point in Arsenal’s season and threatens Wilshere’s position in Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
Wilshere has suffered with niggling knocks this term and could well do with a relaxing break and Arsenal fans will hope that the youngster will return refreshed to help his North London club in the final stretch of the Premier League season.
Arsenal face Tottenham, Man United and Man City in their next three Premier League fixtures and have the small matter of a return leg against Bundesliga champions elect Bayern Munich on Tuesday night as the massive matches come thick and fast without Wilshere to call upon.
