The Italian outfit have already agreed a move for the Red Devils skipper Nemanja Vidic, with the experienced Serbia international due to swap Old Trafford for San Siro on a lucrative Bosman-style free transfer this summer.

And now Inter also hope to be able to persuade the Mexico international to also follow the centre back to Serie A, with the club having already made contact with the 25-year-old’s father and agent to discuss what terms they may be able to offer his son.

Inter are said to be prepared to hand Hernandez a deal worth £2m a year, the same terms that the player is currently on at the Theatre of Dreams, and now the club are set to make official contact with the Red Devils to inquire about the attacker’s availability this summer.

The Mexican, who is also being tracked by La Liga outfit Valencia, has a contract in the north west that runs until June 2015.
