Man United are reportedly weighing up a possible bid for Sunderland winger Adam Johnson according to Football Direct News.

The 26 year old England international has been in fine form of late but is likely to be looking to leave the Stadium of Light, confident of his ability to shine for a side at the right end of the table, and a move to Old Trafford would certainly tempt the former Man City man.

David Moyes could well do with fresh wide attacking options as the likes of Nani, Ashley Young, and to a lesser extent, Ashley Young have all failed to provide a consistent enough impact in the final third.

Johnson has the ability to be a success at Man United and his past association with the club’s local rivals doesn’t appear to count for much as far as David Moyes is concerned.

Sunderland paid Man City £10m for Adam Johnson in August 2012 and the locally born wide-man has scored ten goals in all competitions thus far this season.

The Black Cats may well be forced to cash-in on Johnson if the player looks to force an exit from the relegation threatened side.
