Old Trafford side to offer winger in part exchange deal for St Mary’s star.
Man United’s pursuit of Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana will apparently see David Moyes offer winger Ashley Young in a cash plus player bid according to the Football Direct News.
The Old Trafford boss is keen to bring in the 25 year old England international, who has been in excellent form this term, and will hope that the offer of Young would act as sufficient bait to convince Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino to consider selling the creative midfielder.
Moyes appears to have run out of patience with Young, who has been in and out of his starting eleven this term, though one wonders if the former Aston Villa man would be open to a move to St Mary’s.
Lallana’s form has earned him a spot in Roy Hodgson’s England side in recent months and should see him included in the 2014 World Cup finals squad.
The one club man is into his eighth season in the Southampton first team and has over 250 appearances to his name.
Lallana has scored nine goals in all competitions this term and has provided a vital link between midfield and attack this term and one of a number of England talents in Pochettino’s side whom the Argentine may struggle to keep hold of this summer.
