Man United are ready to join the race to sign French international Loic Remy according to Football Direct News.

David Moyes is said to be ready to trigger Remy’s £8m release clause and is therefore likely to challenge Newcastle United and Arsenal for to sign the 26 year old.

Remy is currently contracted to QPR but has proven a massive success at St James’ Park this term, netting 13 Premier League goals during his season long loan spell in the north-east.

There is growing speculation that Robin Van Persie may leave Man United this summer and Mexican bit-part player Javier Hernandez must be tired of warming the bench.

Wayne Rooney has proven very effective in a withdrawn striker role and England man Danny Welbeck has been prolific when called upon by Moyes.

Remy’s form this term should lead to a spot in Didier Deschamps 2014 World Cup finals squad, which in turn may well lead to a growing interest in his services.

The former Marseille man will have no shortage of offers once his temporary spell at Newcastle United comes to a close.
