Arsenal Ace Mesut Ozil Ruled Out For Up To Six Weeks With Hamstring Injury

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has been ruled out for up to six weeks with the hamstring injury sustained against Bayern Munich.

The 25 year-old had to be withdrawn at half time due to the blow, and was immediately referred to the Bavarian side’s club doctor Hans Muller Wohlfahrt, who is also the medical professional for the Germany national team, and helped conduct Ozil’s medical when he signed for the north London side in September.

The Daily Mail claim that Ozil will miss between the next four to six weeks of the season, which will include fixtures against Tottenham, Chelsea, Swansea City, Manchester City and Everton – and will be touch and go for the FA Cup semi final against Wigan Athletic.

Manager Arsene Wenger will hope that there are no more injuries at Emirates Stadium in such a crunch period for the Gunners, with the likes of Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, Kim Kallstrom, Aaron Ramsey, Abou Diaby, Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo all currently struggling for fitness.

Despite some indifferent form over the Christmas period, record signing Ozil was sensational against Everton in the FA Cup on Saturday, and a tough game against the best team in Europe should not result in a fresh inquisition into his abilities.

The German will certainly be a big loss for Arsenal.
