Serie A side AS Roma are readying a summer move for Tottenham midfield pair Sandro and Paulinho according to Football Direct News.

The Stadio Olimpico side have seen Dutchman Kevin Strootman suffer a long term injury whilst Bosnian playmaker Miralem Pjanic’s future at the club is very uncertain, hence boss Rudi Garcia targeting reinforcements.

Garcia will hope to lure Brazilian duo Sandro and Paulinho with the promise of Champions League action though one wonders if the North London club would entertain offers for their services.

White Hart Lane chairman Daniel Levy may well look to balance the books if his side, as expected, don’t clinch a top four finish, and whilst Tottenham have a number of midfield options arguably the pair named by this source are the club’s two best options.

Sandro has struggled with injuries and started just eight Premier League fixtures and after a solid enough start to his debut season Paulinho has perhaps gone off the boil of late.
