Man United are reportedly keeping a close eye on Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb ahead of a summer bid for the teenager according to the Metro.

Few would have heard of the 19 year old when he was handed his first team bow away at Southampton in late December but the youngster has gone on to impress and is now a regular in Tim Sherwood’s starting eleven.

Old Trafford boss David Moyes has sent senior scouts to track the Algerian, who is likely to feature in the 2014 World Cup finals, and the White Hart Lane side may struggle to keep hold of the classy central midfielder.

Moyes could well do with a strong tackling presence in the centre of the park and may well look to freshen up his midfield options this summer.

Brazilian Anderson has been sent out on loan to Fiorentina and is likely to be sold outright, Tom Cleverley has become something of a scapegoat for the club’s failures, Marouane Fellaini hasn’t come close to hitting the form that made him a much sought after player at Everton and Ryan Giggs may well elect to hang up his boots, so there is certainly room for a midfield addition.

Bentaleb has made 15 appearances for Tottenham since breaking into the first team just four months ago and is valued at around £10m.
