Premier League giants Arsenal are interested in signing young Valencia front man Francisco Alcacer at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The north London club have reportedly been keeping close tabs on the highly rated Spain Under-21 international for most of this campaign, with Gunners head coach Arsene Wenger having even sent scouts over to Southern Spain to watch Alcacer in action on as many as four occasions so far this season as the experienced French trainer weighs up whether or not to make a move for the player this summer.

Alcacer has been with the La Liga outfit for his whole career to date, although the 20-year-old was shipped out on a season-long move to Getafe in the 2012-13 campaign in order to gain valuable first-team experience.

And it appears as though that stint with the Madrid-based minnows has served the Spaniard well judging by the eye-catching campaign that Alcacer is currently enjoying in front of goal for los Che, for who he has scored 10 goals in 22 games, including the winner as Barcelona in February.
