The experienced France international has a contract with the Premier League champions that currently runs until June 30 2014 and as such, Evra will be available to purchase on a lucrative Bosman-style free transfer come the end of June.

And as a result, the 32-year-old now looks set to join his club captain Nemanja Vidic by swapping Old Trafford for San Siro next season after the Serbia international announced last week that he had also agreed to join Inter for nothing this summer.

There had been some speculation that the Frenchman would remain at the Theatre of Dreams next season after activating a clause in his current deal with the Premier League giants that would automatically see the player handed a new contract were he to play a certain number of games in this campaign.

However, after eight years in the north west, Evra has now decided that he wants to leave the Red Devils in order to try out one final challenge in his career.
