Dane’s contract is up this summer in any case.

Out-of-favour Arsenal front man Nicklas Bendtner looks like having played his final game for the north London club following the Dane’s extraordinary drunken night out in Copenhagen on Tuesday, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The misfiring Denmark international was supposed to travel with the rest of the Gunners squad to take on Bayern Munich in the second leg of their round-of-16 Uefa Champions League clash at the Allianz Arena in midweek.

However, the striker pulled out claiming that he had a knee injury, only to then fly back home, where the 26-year-old became involved in a much-publicised incident with a taxi driver.

And when quizzed on the matter, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: “Honestly, I don’t know what happened [in Copenhagen]. I haven’t spoken to him [Bendtner]. The only thing that is for sure, he had nothing to do in Copenhagen.

“Nobody gave him any permission to go to Copenhagen. He will be fined for that. For the rest, has he created some trouble? I don’t know. I will speak to him today.”

And then when asked whether that was now the end for the player at the Emirates, Wenger said: “Look, he’s at the end of the contract at the end of the season.”
