Jovetic has seen his maiden season in the English top flight blighted by a series of injuries that have limited to just 12 appearances so far under Manuel Pellegrini.

And while the ex-Firoentina goal getter has admitted that having to spend so much time on the sidelines has been more than frustrating,  he is adamant that he is still committed to the cause and hopes to repay the manager’s faith in him as soon as possible.

“The manager believes in me and has told me to be patient,” Jovetic told the Manchester Evening News.

“It has been frustrating of course because what I love most is football and when I cannot play it is very difficult. I hope it’s going to finish.”

When asked about reports that suggested he was unhappy in Manchester and was looking to leave, Jovetic said: “It’s not true. I never said that. I don’t think like this.

“I am really happy because this is one of the best teams in the world.”
