Reports in Germany are claiming that the North London outfit have been closely monitoring the German international with the view to bringing him to the Premier League this summer, though they face some serious competition from the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach.
Several German news outlets are reporting that Spurs are preparing to make a concrete offer to the 27-year-old, but wanted to scout him extensively first as they failure of Lewis Holtby to make an impact at the club meant they had decided to exercise some caution this time around.
Hunt, who has an English mother, has spent his entire career with Bremen and is now the club’s captain. He also has three caps for the German national side, but does not look to be on his way to Brazil this summer for the World Cup.
Hunt hit the headlines earlier this week when he convinced a referee to overturn a penalty decision during a Bundesliga game against Nuremburg.
