Arsenal will battle local rivals Tottenham in pursuit of in-form Juventus striker Domenico Berardi according to Football Direct News.

Teenager Berardi is enjoying a season long loan spell at Serie A minnows Sassuolo, scoring 12 goals in 18 starts thus far this season, and could be a player Juventus prepare to cash-in on this summer.

Antonio Conte has seen summer signings Carlos Tevez and Fernando Llorente both adapt well to life in the Italian top tier and as such could consider good offers for Berardi.

Arsenal could well do with strengthening an attack that overly relies on Olivier Giroud, especially with both Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski suffering with injuries this term, and a move for Berardi adheres to Arsene Wenger’s youthful transfer policy.

Tottenham are in even more dire need of a striker signing with summer signings Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado putting in woefully inadequate debut seasons for the White Hart Lane side.

Berardi is clearly a player with a great deal of potential, as evidenced by his astonishing four goal haul against AC Milan earlier this season, and the starlet striker may well feel his career progression would be better served by a move away from Juventus.
