Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng this summer after making him one of their top priorities, according to Football Direct News.

The German international primarily operates as a centre-back, though does frequently fill in as a fullback too, and he is already somewhat familiar with the Premier League after spending a frustrating injury-hit season at the Etihad during the 2010-11 campaign.
However, upon returning to his homeland he quickly established himself for both club and country courtesy of some impressive displays in which he showed some significant pace and power at the back, which has now caught the eye of United’s scouting team.
Sources close to the Old Trafford outfit have now suggested that manager David Moyes is ready to splash out on the 25-year-old, but is aware that he won;t come cheap as he still has four years to run on his contract in Bavaria.
Despite winning the Champions League and Bundesliga title with Bayern, United hope Boateng has a feeling of unfinished business in the Premier League, specifically in Manchester and will look to make their move for him at the end of the season.
