Schalke are keen on luring Man United playmaker Shinji Kagawa back to the Bundesliga according to Football Direct News.

The 24 year old Japanese international has been strongly linked with an Old Trafford exit having become something of a bit-part player under boss David Moyes.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has made just seven Premier League starts this season and has often been used out of position by Moyes and may well be keen to re-ignite his career with a move away from the Premier League side this summer.

Inter Milan and Galatasaray are also said to be keen on Kagawa who is seen by Schalke as a potential replacement for Arsenal target Julian Draxler.

Man United paid £17m to sign Kagawa and under Sir Alex Ferguson the attacking midfielder showed glimpses of his obvious ability, most notably netting a hat-trick against Norwich City, but since Moyes took over as boss the Kobe born star hasn’t had much of a look-in.

The arrival of Juan Mata from Chelsea and the emergence of youngster Adnan Januzaj have further limited Kagawa’s chances of making an impact at Man United.
