Arsenal are preparing for life after Arsene Wenger with the Daily Mail claiming that four potential successors have been earmarked by the North London club.

Veteran Gunners boss Wenger is apparently expected to sign a new three year contract but this hasn’t stopped the club’s board from planning ahead and have selected four young managers who they feel could fill the inevitable void that would be left when the 64 year old does eventually leave the Emirates Stadium.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez, former Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup, French national team coach Didier Deschamps and Ajax’s Frank de Boer are those considered as possible replacements for Wenger.

Of the quartet Dutchman de Boer is perhaps the most qualified to take the helm.

Frank de Boer has been a major success as Ajax boss with the 43 year old looking likely to capture a fourth straight Eredivisie title and one imagines that he could well bring former Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp with him to act as an assistant, as the former forward currently acts as his right hand man at the Amsterdam Arena.
