Arsenal will target Bayern Munich ace Mario Mandzukic this summer according to the Metro.

The 27 year old Croatian is likely to see his first team chances limited next term with Robert Lewandowski set to move from Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Arena in the summer.

The former Wolfsburg man has been a regular goal-scorer since moving to Bayern Munich 18 months ago but is seemingly seen as a player Pep Guardiola is keen to replace.

Mandzukic netted a healthy 21 goals in his first season at Bayern Munich, playing a pivotal role in their treble winning success, and has been even more prolific in 2013/14, scoring 17 goals in 17 Bundesliga starts.

Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his attack with both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott both suffering with injury concerns that have left Olivier Giroud having to shoulder the goal-scoring burden.

Bayern Munich are thought to want £20m for Mandzukic, which is a very fair price for the powerful forward, who would be ideally suited to the overly physical nature of the Premier League.
