The north London club and the experienced France international have been locked together in talks regarding a new deal for some time now, with still no breakthrough in sight after the player rejected the Gunners’ first two contract offers.

However, the two parties have one scheduled meeting planned before the end of the season wit which to finally come to some sort of agreement, however, they still remain some distance apart in their negotiations.

And that is because the north Londoners have only offered Sagna a two-year deal on the exact same terms that he is currently on at the Emirates – £60,000 per week – while the 31-year-old is demanding a three-year contract on improved terms of £90,000 per week.

Meanwhile, with both mega-rich European heavyweights such as Inter Milan and Galatasaray reportedly waiting in the wings ready to snap the Frenchman up next season, the chaces of Sagna still being with Arsenal this time next year receding fast.
