Everton Want Man City Flop

Goodison Park side plot Etihad Stadium swoop.

Check in to Everton vs Swansea City

Everton are lining up a summer move for Man City battler Javi Garcia according to Football Direct News.

Roberto Martinez has enlisted the services of Gareth Barry on loan from the Etihad Stadium side this season but has now set his sights on 27 year old Spanish international Garcia.

The former Benfica man has struggled for form since moving to Man City back in August 2012 and has arguably come nowhere near justifying the £15.8m outlay the Premier League side paid by Roberto Mancini.

Garcia has made just eight Premier League starts this term and has seen the likes of Yaya Toure and Fernandinho hold the club’s central midfield spots so a move to Goodison Park could be an option if boss Manuel Pellegrini looks to cash-in on the one time Real Madrid man.

Everton have also been linked with an interest in former player Jack Rodwell, who has also failed to make an impact at Man City.

Martinez’s Toffees side are still pushing for a Champions League spot with their late win over Cardiff City cementing their spot in sixth place, just two points off Tottenham in fifth and nine off fourth spot, albeit with games in hand over three of the current top four.
