Arguably Liverpool are well on course to usher in a new era of genuine success with Brendan Rodgers having made great strides over the past 18 months, indeed the Anfield side are perhaps three signings short of being equipped to mount title assaults on multiple fronts.

There are areas of the Liverpool squad that Rodgers could well do with strengthening and a lack of real depth in some areas is a potential pitfall should injuries and poor form take their collective toll.

Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)

Brendan Rodgers would do well to re-ignite his interest in Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka, who so nearly joined the Merseyside club in the January transfer window.

The signs are that the 24 year old was indeed keen to make the move and an addition of another wide attacking option, especially given Raheem Sterling’s age and Victor Moses’s inability to make an impact during his loan spell this season.

Konoplyanka provides natural width, invention and a very real goal threat that would help ease the burden on Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

Qualification for the Champions League would effectively give Liverpool a big edge over potential suitors Tottenham.
