The highly rated Croatia international has long been tracked by many of the Continent’s big-name clubs, and with the imminent arrival of prolific Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, Mandzukic is understood to be concerned about losing his starting place up front in Bavaria to the Pole.

However, in response to those fears, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has reassured the attacker by saying: “Mandzukic has a contract until 2016, but I have told him he could extend it here.”

Either way, though, according to reports in Italy the player’s agent, Ivan Cvjetkovic, has still flown to London in order to begin discussions with both the west Londoners and their arch rivals from the Emirates about signing his client this summer.
