Roberto Mancini’s men have had no trouble with signing big name players recently, bringing in the likes of Didier Drogba and Wesley Sneijder to the Turk Telecom Arena and they were linked with a move for the German international last summer, only for a move to not materialise.
Podolski found himself become a firm favourite at the Emirates during his first season, but after a tough spell out through injury he has seemingly slipped down the pecking order this time around.
And with Arsene Wenger continually choosing to start him on the bench, a move could be on the cards as he is one of the highest earning players in the squad.
His situation this season has apparently interested the likes of Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and cross city neighbours Inter Milan to be linked with his signature.
There was talk of him being a part of the deal that would see Julian Draxler head the other way, but that rumour was quickly quashed by all involved.
Galatasaray will now hope to add the 28-year-old to their squad as they seek further big-name additions in the summer, and he may yet be available for a cut-price fee as the Gunners seemingly don’t have him in their long-term plans.
