Man United are said to be keen on Real Madrid youngster Daniel Carvajal according to Football Direct News.

This source claims that the 22 year old Spaniard could be offloaded by Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti, which would be something of a surprise as the former Bayer Leverkusen man has started 25 matches in all competitions and is the club’s first choice right-back.

Ancelotti apparently sees Mattia De Sciglio of AC Milan or Porto’s Danilo da Silva as possible replacements for Carvajal, who only returned to Real Madrid last summer after a year in Germany.

One can see why David Moyes would be interested in Carvajal as neither Rafael or Chris Smalling have impressed in the right-back role this season.

Carvajal is still yet to make an appearance for the senior Spanish national team set-up but is certainly a talented defender, though one would have to wonder why Ancelotti would be open to offers for the Real Madrid starlet.
