Arsenal are preparing a move to sign Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes according to The Sun.

Arsene Wenger doesn’t seem convinced by current first choice keeper Wojciech Szczesny, who was at fault for at least two of Chelsea’s six goals yesterday, and may see experienced Spaniard Valdes would be an ideal signing.

The 32 year old will leave the Nou Camp this summer when his contract expires and will have no shortage of offers and will cost Arsenal nothing.

Valdes has represented Barcelona since the age of 13 and has made 533 appearances for the Catalan giants and will be looking for a fresh challenge in the summer but one wonders if he’ll be keen on joining a side that is still not challenging for major honours.

Though Szczesny has kept 13 Premier League clean sheets he has been found wanting in big matches having conceded six to both Chelsea and Man City as well as leaking four at Anfield.
