Lazio midfielder Eddy Onazi has given fresh hope to Liverpool by claiming that he desperately wants to test himself in the Premier League this summer, according to Football Direct News.

The Nigerian international has impressed for Lazio this season, and his performances have caught the eye of Brendan Rodgers, who has been tracking the player for several months now.

The 21-year-old has the physical nature required to thrive in the English top flight, and he has now admitted that he is eager to test himself in the Premier League.

“The Premier League in my future? I have always dreamed of being a professional footballer and here I am in Italy,” he told Mtnfootball.

“Of course I would like to play in England, but we must keep our feet on the ground and worry about the present.”

Onazi emerged through the Lazio youth system by breaking into the first team eight times last season, by he has gone on from strength to strength this term by making 22 appearances so far.

He primarily operates as a defensive midfielder, but has weighed in with one goal and thee assists and is known for possessing exceptional vision and a wide range of passing ability.

Despite his youth, Onazi already has 18 caps at senior level for Nigeria, for whom he has also won the African Cup of Nations.
