Arsenal contract rebel Bacary Sagna is reportedly now a target of Premier League rivals Chelsea according to the Daily Mail.

The 31 year old full-back is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal and will see his current contract expire in the summer and now Jose Mourinho is keen on luring the French international from north to west London.

Currently Mourinho has been using Branislav Ivanovic exclusively as his first choice right-back, so much so that he’s converted right sided defender Cesar Azpilicueta into an excellent left-back, where he has replaced frozen out England man Ashley Cole. Therefore interest from Stamford Bridge seems odd to say the least.

Both Inter Milan and Galatasaray are also said to be keen on the experienced Gunners star though Sagna is thought to be keen on remaining in England, where he has settled over the course of his seven years, indeed Tottenham are also monitoring his situation.

Wenger will not want to lose such an accomplished performer, especially to local rivals on a free transfer, but no deal thus far has convinced Sagna to remain at the Emirates Stadium and the clock is ticking.

Sagna has made 274 appearances for Arsenal since his £7m move to the club from Auxerre back in July 2007.
