Man United have been given a boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos after it emerged that the Bundesliga side would not give in to the player’s wage demands according to the Daily Mail.

The 24 year old German international has been on the Old Trafford radar for some months news that Kroos has not been granted the massive pay-rise he was after will certainly lead to further interest from David Moyes.

Kroos, who is currently said to be earning £60k a week, wanted parity with the likes of Franck Ribery and Philipp Lahm, who earn around £150k a week, but Bayern Munich are not willing to sanction such an offer so with just over a year to run on the player’s current contract there is speculation that Man United will make a fresh move for the midfield schemer in the summer.

Moyes brought in Marouane Fellaini and Juan Mata over the past two transfer windows but is seeking further midfield guile and has identified Kroos as the man for the job, with this source claiming a £20m bid is in the offing.

Kroos has been a regular in Pep Guardiola’s side this term, starting 35 games in all competitions.
