Chelsea have set their sights on Real Madrid youngster Isco if Jose Mourinho fais to retain the services of Brazilian playmaker Oscar according to Football Direct News.

Real Madrid signed Isco last June but though the 21 year old enjoyed a strong start to the season he has found himself increasingly used in a limited role by boss Carlo Ancelotti, most recently failing to make the starting eleven for the El Clasico encounter on Sunday night.

Isco has started 16 of Real Madrid’s 29 La Liga fixtures and just half of the club’s Champions League matches, and is said to be frustrated by his role.

Ancelotti has seen his front three of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale help the club to a 31 match unbeaten run, prior to the recent defeat to Barcelona, and the Italian has then used Angel Di Maria more predominantly in the position Isco had filled for much of the campaign.

Isco has started just two La Liga matches in 2014 and Mourinho may well feel the Spanish international would be the ideal man to fill the void should Oscar leave Stamford Bridge.
