Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan have all been linked with the attacker in the past.

The future of highly rated Aston Villa front man Christian Benteke is still very much up in the air after the Belgium’s agent revealed that his client will not decide where he will be playing next season until after this summer’s Fifa World Cup finals in Brazil, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The powerful Belgium international very nearly left Villa Park at the end of the previous campaign when the player’s agent advised the striker to hand in a transfer request, only for Villa head coach Paul Lambert to persuade his main man to instead remain at the west Midlands club and put pen to paper on a contract extension.

As a result, Benteke did agree a new deal at Villa that now ties the 23-year-old to the Premier League strugglers until June 2017, with the player also receiving a rise in salary to £40,000 per week under the new terms.

However, despite agreeing that new deal, Benteke’s agent, Eric Kismet, has now said that: “He wants to get ready for the World Cup. For the future, there is time. Currently it is too early to talk about it.”
