Both Major League Soccer outfit the Los Angeles Galaxy and Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion want to sign veteran Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Star.

The experienced England international’s current contract with the west London club now only runs until the end of June after Lampard was offered a one-year deal by the Blues at the end of the previous campaign.

And on that occasion, the player was forced to wait until mid-May until the Uefa Europa League holders approached him about extending his stay at Stamford Bridge.

However, the Englishman has struggled to win a regular starting berth in the west Londoners’ midfield so far in this campaign, with returning Chelsea head coach instead opting to go with the likes of Ramires, John Obi Mikel and now since the turn of the year, new £21m capture from Benfica Nemanja Matic.

As a result, Lampard is now understood to be weighing up a two-year offer worth £72,000 per week from the Galaxy to move to the MLS next season, while Brighton also want to land the midfielder too.
