The Italian outfit’s sporting director Piero Ausilio has been busy scoring the market on the Continent of late as he looks to rebuild the first-team squad at San Siro, with new forwards their number one priority for when the summer transfer window reopens again at the start of July.

“Aside from the names, I think it’s obvious we are working in that direction for that role,” he told Sky Sports Italia.

“It’s true we cannot target players whose wages are too high, but in football there are often other resources.

“We’ll put a little bit of creativity and ingenious thought into it.

“We want to build a team that takes into account the economic parameters we’ve been set.

“This year was very useful working with the coach and it will be a great resource for next season. I am convinced of that.”
