Water carrier will instead move to San Siro this summer.

The Red Devils have themselves been keeping close tabs out on the experienced Cameroon international in the hope of luring Song to Old Trafford at the end of the campaign.

However, it now appears as though in actual fact the former Arsenal player will move to San Siro instead now after the Italian outfit approached the La Liga champions with an offer of £10m for the defensive midfielder.

And despite the Catalans initially demanding a transfer fee of £12m for the 26-year-old, who has a contract at Camp Nou that runs until June 2017 following his switch from the Gunner in the summer of 2012 for £15m, Barca are understood to be happy to accept that figure.

All of which now means that new United head coach David Moyes will have to start to look elsewhere for a player to fill that role just ion front of his back four at the Theatre of Dreams next season.
