Man United playmaker Shinji Kagawa is apparently set to return to his former club Borussia Dortmund according to the Sunday Mirror.

The 25 year old has failed to recapture the form he displayed during his spell at the Westfalenstadion, where he won two Bundesliga titles before completing a £12m move to Old Trafford, a move back to Dortmund may well be one that the Japanese international would be tempted by.

A loan move may suit all parties as David Moyes doesn’t appear to rate Kagawa all that highly with the Kobe born attacker making just nine Premier League starts this season, and often used out of position by the Scottish boss to boot.

Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp would no doubt welcome Kagawa back with open arms as he looks set to be in with a struggle to keep the best of his current talents.

His side have fallen well off the Bundesliga pace and will see star striker Robert Lewandowski join domestic rivals Bayern Munich this summer.

They may also have a job on their hands trying to keep hold of the likes of Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan.
