Stamford Bridge side want FC Porto man.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has targeted FC Porto’s Alex Sandro as a replacement for exit bound veteran Ashley Cole according to Football Direct News.
The 23 year year old Brazilian international has been in fine form at FC Porto over the past 18 months and is reportedly available for an affordable fee of around £15m, which may make him a cheaper option than the likes of Southampton teenager Luke Shaw and Real Madrid’s Marcelo, who have also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent months.
Primeira Liga have made a habit of cashing in on top performers of late and the likes of Jackson Martinez and Eliaqium Mangala are sure to be targeted by many of Europe’s ‘Elite’ this summer.
Though Mourinho has used Cesar Azpicilueta in the left-back role for much of the season and the Spaniard has been excellent but is better known for his efforts on the right side of the defence and as such may be a player the Blues boss wants to use instead of Branislav Ivanovic in the long term.
Sandro may well be tempted by a move to Chelsea where he’d team-up with national team colleagues Ramires, David Luiz and Ramires.
