The former Wales international, now 40, is currently operating on the basis of a one-year rolling contract with the Premier League champions, however, after supposedly being marginalised by the Scot at the Theatre of Dreams in what has been a so far terrible campaign for the Red Devils, Giggs is now understood to be ready to quit the club this summer.

The Scot had actually taken the step of asking Giggs to join his coaching team at the beginning of the season, an offer the veteran accepted on a part-time basis, while also remaining on the United coaching staff too.

But having been barely been used by Moyes on the field of play in this campaign, despite the on-pitch problems the club have been experiencing – Giggs has featured in only 20 matches in total in all competitions to date, just 11 of which have come in the Premier League, the player has now had enough and intends to leave the north west in two months’ time.
